Relays don't last forever and if the contacts chatter slightly while in operation due to road/engine vibration, under hood Texas heat or electrical wear and tear, this relay will de energize, the contacts will open, the FICM will stop firing the fuel injectors and the truck will stop (without setting a code, I THINK). Replace the under hood relay that powers the FICM. So if you keep something plugged into your OBD2 port while the truck is shutting down, I suggest you unplug it and see if your problem gets better. I suspect this code reader/gauge pack was somehow dragging down or corrupting the CAN bus signals. Ford Dealer mechanic could not find anything wrong, but unplugged the aftermarket gauges I had kept plugged into the OBD2 port and the truck started right up and has not shut off since then. After a couple months of these random shutdowns, I finally had it towed to the Ford Dealer when I couldn't get it to restart and run long enough to get back home. My 2004 F-350 was doing that several years ago.
